FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. WHO WILL BE TAKING THE PHOTOS ON THE DAY?

Simone’ {Main photographer} & Second shooter/assistant

We are the two people who will be sharing in your special day. Simone’ is the main photographer & the assistant has a few jobs…he takes pictures, he carries the bags full of heavy equipment – sometimes while he is also carrying the brides bouquet & the veil & the grooms jacket, he handles the reflector, he assists with lens changing & so forth.

2. WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE?

Beautiful wedding photography is a collaboration between 3 things

i The artistic/creative talent of your photographer

ii The quality in equipment

iii The relationship between the photographer & clients

That being said – we use TOP OF THE RANGE NIKON PROFESSIONAL GEAR to guarantee that our beautiful, creative compositions can be printed in the highest possible quality. We carry everything we need to ensure that we can photograph in any & every lighting/weather condition that comes our way.

3 HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING WEDDINGS?

2017 will be Simone’s 8th year shooting professionally & her 14th year of photographic experience.

4. DO YOU BACKUP OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

Yes…and Yes! After a wedding we backup the images to 2-3 external harddrives. One for the safe & one for an off-site location.

5. DO YOU DO TABLE SHOTS?

No. In our experience table shots take up a whole lot of time and they are very uncreative and unflattering. We do take a whole bunch of spontaneous in-the-moment photos during your reception of guests chatting, popping champagne, listening and laughing at speeches, dancing and having a great time. We do provide a photo booth as an add on to your package if you want group shots, this is the fun creative and pretty way to get them.

6. DO YOU DO FAMILY PORTRAITS?

Yes. After the ceremony is over we use 15-20minutes {work that into your program} for family group photos. We ask that you provide us a list with no more then 15 family photos one week before your wedding.

7. WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

We love photographing rainy weddings. We are happy to take photos in the rain if you are comfortable with it. We always bring a few umbrellas as a back up plan but we will chat to you about a backup plan if it is needed. There is nothing to worry about…rain makes amazing photos.

8. DO YOU EDIT OUR PHOTOS?

Yes. We put a lot of time and effort into creating a collection of masterpieces for you to treasure always. We do not over-edit. Our editing is very natural – you will still look like you after we are done. We supply you with a variety of colour and B&W.

9. CAN WE CHOOSE THE PHOTOS THAT WE WANT? CAN WE CHOOSE THE PHOTOS THAT WE WANT IN OUR ALBUM?

We do give you the option of choosing the 400/500 {or more} photos that you would like to receive on hi-res dvd/usb. AND Yes, you can choose the top 100 photos that you would like to have in your album. Some clients leave it completely in our hands which is fine too. What ever floats your boat 😉

10. WE ARE CAMERA SHY – IS THAT A PROBLEM?

No, not at all. A very few people on earth feel comfortable with a lens being directed at them. Being camera shy has nothing to do with being photogenic. You can relax with us…we will direct you in a very relaxed method – we will guide you & show you – we will not make you pose in a way that makes you look and feel uncomfortable. Our couple photos are very natural. It is also very fun. We always like to show our clients how fun and relaxed a shoot with us can be via an engagement/pre-wedding shoot.

11. SHOULD WE FEED YOU?

Yes please:)put us on the supplier table in the corner where we can safely put our gear without bothering other guests. PS. Besides sitting during dinner, we are hardly ever at the table. A jug of water & juice will also be highly appreciated.

12. DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?

Yes. We travel near & far for weddings. 100km is included in the price. Extra traveling is charged at current AA rates per km.

If your venue is more then 100km away from Pretoria we also ask that you provide us with suitable and safe accommodation for after the wedding. If your venue is 300/more km away from Pretoria we ask that you provide us with two nights accommodation, for the night before the wedding and also the night after the wedding – so we don’t have to travel huge distances on your wedding day itself. One room is fine – we are married 😉

For venues out of driving range we ask for air fair, car rental & accommodation {if applicable}

13. CAN WE MEET YOU?

Yes. We would love to meet you. Our office hours are Tuesdays-Thursday from 11am-4pm & also Tuesday evening from 5-9pm. Please make an appointment via email. We can meet you at a coffee shop close to our home. We are closed on Mondays & on Fridays we tend to be busy with a wedding or smaller shoots.

14. HOW DO WE BOOK OUR DATE?

You can send us an email or FILL IN THE CONTACT SHEET & ask for our availability and also our packages. We reply within 2days{if its over a weekend, less if its not.} We send you a link to our package information and you kindly notify us of your choice via an email. We then email you with a booking contract & invoice. After you have signed the contract & paid the 50% booking fee – we are yours for the day. During this process you are also welcome to meet us if you wish. Some clients like to see the faces behind the scenes, others are happy with what they see online.

15. CAN YOU HOLD OUT THE DAY FOR US?

No. Unfortunately we can only book ONE wedding per date, so we work on a strict, first one to sign the contract and pay the 50% booking fee – first serve.
